Unknown people set on fire an apartment building and a car at night on December 14 in Rivne. This was reported by the press center of the regional police.

"There was a fire at a residential house and a Mercedes-Benz car belonging to a 40-year-old Rivne citizen got burned," the report said.

Rescuers eliminated the fire.

"The car was completely destroyed by the fire. The walls and doors of the house with just the owner in it were damaged," the police say.

According to preliminary information, the cause of the fire is arson.

At the same time, the local agency of ChaRivne specifies that Oleksandr Babat, a deputy of the Rivne city council, lives at the address.

It is noted that the car of such model appears in the criminal proceedings regarding the disappearance of the builder Andriy Artvinsky.

"The body of the missing construction worker was found in a forest near the village of Oleksandriia in Rivne region, on December 14 last year. The man was working at a construction site on the street in Rivne. The deputy was suspected of concealment of a serious crime but he denied his guilt," the agecy notes.

It is reported that the firemen arrived to the scene very fast but did not succeed to make the way to fire quickly due to the parked cars.
