The certificate for permanent residence for the foreigners and persons without citizenship will be issued in the form of an ID card from June 1, as it is stated in the decree of Ukraine’s Government, which is published on the Government Portal.
The decree provides the patterns and the technical description of the ID-cards, as well as the order of the procedural formalities, its issuing, exchange and seizure, the invalidation and elimination.
The certificates of a new format will be issued in the form of a 54x85,6 mm plastic card. The cards have no-contact electronic media with the biometric data and the digitalize photo of the face and a sign on it.
Such certificate will be in effect within ten years.
Besides, it was noted that until all of the departments of the State Migration Service have all necessary material and technical resources, the certificates will be issued on the old book-like form along with the ID cards.
All the certificates issued before June 1, 2018, regardless of the form, will be valid.
Earlier, Ukraine’s Government banned issuing national passport in a book-like form.
