District Administrative Court of Kyiv granted the motion of Kyiv Metropole of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church on cancellation of the order of Ministry of Culture according to which Kyiv Metropole has to change its official name and include the respective changes into its statute till April 26, 2019, as the website of the court reported.
Therefore, the process of the rename is suspended.
“Lack of such measures might hamper or make it impossible to restore violated or disputed rights or interests of the religious organization,” the court informed.
According to the court, implementation of the disputed issue might lead to unreasonable interference of the state before the case is resolved.
Measures are aimed at preservation of the current state of affairs up to the end of consideration of the case.
265 religious organizations were involved in the judicial process as third parties.
