The renaming of Ukrainian Orthodox Church of Moscow Patriarchate has to be done within the set by the law terms, regardless the litigation over its appeal, Chairman of the Ukrainian Parliament Andriy Parubiy claimed this talking to the reporters in Istanbul, 112 Ukraine reports.
‘The law (on renaming UOC MP) has entered into force, the law exists. Surely, provokers may file complaints or try to appeal via court, but the law has been passed. Litigation can be long. This in no way affects the decision and the force of law. All actions regarding renaming should be carried out within the deadlines specified in the law. I emphasize once again, no matter how long the litigation lasts,’ he noted.
At the same time, Parubiy stressed that the number of the parishes of the UOC MP, which decided to join the Orthodox Church of Ukraine has exceeded 40.
According to the speaker of the Ukrainian Parliament, the number will be increasing in the future. This will be possible after a legal settlement of the issue of such a transition.
