Ukraine's released sailors, political prisoners to receive ID cards, - Ombudsman

The released military sailors and other political prisoners will receive ID cards. Lyudmyla Denisova, the Ukrainian Ombudsman, reported that on her Facebook page.

"Today we have started implementation of the joint initiation with the leadership of the State Migration Service of Ukraine relating to the formalization of ID passports. The released military sailors and prisoners, who lost the documents during their captivity or imprisonment on the territory of the Russian Federation or in case they need to be updated, will receive the new documents on September 7," the message reads.

Denisova noted that the State Migration Service of Ukraine organized mobile passport service to the places where the ex-captives were being treated.

She expressed hope that the card-issuing would help in the near future.

As we reported earlier, the plane with the released Ukrainians from the Russian Federation had landed in Boryspil international airport. The exchange was being broadcasted by 112 Ukraine TV channel. 

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky met the released Ukrainians.
