Release of prisoners discussed at Minsk Talks, - Zelensky

The president stated that Ukrainian side is making every effort to return all citizens

The issue of the next stage of prisoners’ release was discussed at the session of the Trilateral Contact Group on Donbas, as 112 Ukraine reported citing President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky.

"Today, the session of the Trilateral Contact Group took place in Minsk. The issue of the next stage of the release of the prisoners was discussed. All of us expect it. For us, you know, the return of Ukrainian citizens is the priority and personal for me…and I believe that for every Ukrainian," Zelensky stated.

The president noted that the Ukrainian side is making every effort to return all citizens.

“I would like to draw special attention to correspondent Stanyslav Aseev who has reached the age of 30, who stays at DPR (Donetsk People’s Republic, - 112.international) jail for two years. We maximize our efforts for his return and return of all our citizens," Zelensky underlined.

Journalist Stanyslav Aseev (Vasin) is kept by militants of DPR since 2017. The contact with him was lost on June 2, 2017. The militants refused to tell, where Aseev is kept, over a month.

On June 11, 2017, the Security Service of Ukraine confirmed his disappearance. On July 28, the Russian side reported that he is kept in the occupied territory of the Donetsk region, where he faced the criminal proceeding.
