The pyrotechnic units of the SES of Ukraine cleared from explosive ordnance the territory of Balakliya Town and 9 settlements in the area of emergency.
The inspection of surrounding territory of Balakliya Town within a radius of 10 km and demining of farmlands are ongoing. The electricity supply to Balakliya Town and nearby settlements has been restored.
20 pyrotechnic units (100 persons and 36 vehicles) from the SES of Ukraine have been engaged in the emergency response. 996 persons and 134 vehicles, including 211 personnel and 66 vehicles are working in the emergency zone in total.
The Emergency Relief Staff headed by the chair of Balakliya district state administration Stepan Maselskyi has been working in the site of emergency.
As 112 International reported, a series of powerful blasts took place at an ammunition storage facility in Kharkiv region on late March 23. The incident occurred near the town of Balakliya. Many of the locals were evacuated from the town and its vicinities. The fire caused by the blasts was finally extinguished the day after that, by evening of March 24. Numerous casualties and even a fatality were reported.
