Regulation on dismissal of Ukraine’s MIA head approved by parliamentary committee

June 17, the committee of the Verkhovna Rada on law enforcement activity supported the initiative of the MPs of Holos and Servant of the People factions and agreed on the submission of the regulation on the dismissal of Interior Minister Arsen Avakov for consideration, as Novoe Vremya reported citing MP of Holos Andriy Osadchuk.

On June 5, Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine registered a resolution on dismissal of Arsen Avakov from the post of Interior Minister. The decision was submitted for consideration. The initiators of the draft resolution are 55 MPs of Holos and Servant of the People factions.

The same day, several Ukrainian cities, including Kyiv, Kharkiv, and Lviv were hosting protest rallies, as people demand the resignation of Interior Minister Arsen Avakov.

Arsen Avakov occupies the post of the interior minister since February 22, 2014. He stayed in the office, while five governments changed.
