Areas may begin to leave the red epidemic zone as early as next week

The regions in Ukraine may begin to leave the red zone of epidemic danger, starting next week, Minister of Healthcare Viktor Lyashko stated during a briefing.

"The regions are expected to start coming out of the red level of epidemic danger zone next week. There are a number of areas in which the incidence rate has decreased, discharges have begun to steadily prevail over hospitalization. The percentage of occupancy of oxygen beds has also decreased," Lyashko said.

The Minister added that 30 days have passed since the beginning of the establishment of the red level of epidemic danger in the first [Kherson] region. This is almost the same time as the last Covid-wave.

Earlier, Minister of Health Viktor Lyashko said that in Ukraine the number of new registered cases of coronavirus and the number of hospitalizations in covid hospitals over the past week decreased.

In Ukraine, 16,308 new cases of coronavirus were confirmed on November 15.

Thus, since the beginning of the pandemic, 3 million 244 thousand 749 people have been infected with the coronavirus, 77,985 people have died (+838 during the day), 2 million 664 thousand 373 people have recovered (+21 914).

The largest number of confirmed cases of the disease on November 15 was registered in Dnipropetrovsk (1635), Odesa (1549) regions and in Kyiv city (1481).
