Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Dmytro Razumkov announced his resignation from the position of the head of party Servant of the People. He stated this on air of 112 Ukraine TV channel.
"Indeed, I am planning to leave the post of the head of the political party, perhaps I will take some other position in the structure of the party Servant of the People. However, for effective work, there will be another person ... This political party at its meeting determines who it is going to be," Razumkov said.
Dmytro Razumkov noted he could not allocate enough time for the development of the party.
“It takes a lot of time to develop effectively the party structure. Unfortunately, the Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada does not have enough time to engage in party building. And since there will be local elections next year, this is a very big challenge. I think that the person who will effectively deal with this particular issue will be elected to the position of head of the party," Razumkov said.
As it was reported earlier, Head of Ukraine’s Delegation to PACE Volodymyr Ariev accused Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada Dmytro Razumkov of blocking the visit to the session, where the violation of the rights of Crimean Tatar in annexed Crimea would be considered. The agenda of the next PACE session, which will take place on October 2, includes this issue. The committee should approve the draft report on September 12. The new Ukrainian delegation is not formed yet but according to the PACE rules, the previous membership is valid until the new list of the lawmakers is approved.
