Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada Dmytro Razumkov commented on the proposal of the adviser to head of the Office of the President Oleksiy Arestovych to rename Ukraine to Rus-Ukraine during a briefing.

“Sometimes it's better to chew than to talk... You and I live in Ukraine, and I think 99.9% of citizens are happy with that. Playing with the name of the country, let alone trying to hype on it is definitely not a state position. I don’t know in what condition people give comments," Razumkov said.

The Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada also noted that he had no information that such a bill was being prepared in the President's Office, and he hoped that it was a fake.

As it was reported earlier, the adviser to the head of the Office of the president, the speaker of the Ukrainian delegation in TCG concerning Donbas Oleksiy Arestovych suggested renaming Ukraine. He noted that the President's Office is working on a decree.

Arestovych also made a proposal to rename the Ukrainian language to the Ruthenian language.
