Race under Chestnuts takes place in Kyiv

The event was carried out under the motto "I am running for the little hearts"

13,000 people participated in the 26th Race under Chestnuts, which took place in Kyiv today on May 3, as the press office of Kyiv City Administration reports.

It is noted that a record number of the supporters of hale and healthy lifestyle – more than 13,000 people – joined the charity race this year.

The representatives of Kyiv City Administration reminded that last year the Race under Chestnuts raised $57,600, which were spent for the needed med equipment.

There are five races within the program: for the sportsmen, for the brave ones, race on the walkers, children’s race and a charity race.

Race under Chestnuts is the largest sport and charity annual event in Ukraine. The facilities raised over the last couple of years during the race were spent on purchasing the vital medical equipment for the Centre for Pediatric Cardiology and Cardiac Surgery of Health Ministry of Ukraine. Since 2002, the participants of the race started supporting the Centre and raised $437,000 which were spent on purchasing equipment the medical facility needs.
