Restrictions in Ukraine on coronavirus can be canceled if at least 70% of Ukrainians are vaccinated as Health Minister Viktor Lyashko stated at Svoboda slova TV show.

"The countries of the European region, which started vaccination, reached the 70% threshold in 4-5 months... All other countries are strengthening the role of the state, intervention in order to increase the number of vaccinated among the 30% who do not want or are afraid," Lyashko said.

According to the head of the department, these statistics confirm that 70% of Ukrainians will be vaccinated against coronavirus.

"Further we will persuade and speak. There is no alternative now," he added.

The minister noted that Ukraine should reach this number of vaccinated. It will allow to lift quarantine restrictions, as happened in Denmark, the UK, and the Scandinavian countries.

"In the Scandinavian countries, masks are already being canceled in transport, because the percentage of vaccinations is already over 75%," Lyashko stressed.

As we reported, Ukraine was ranked first in the number of new cases of Covid-19 per day. Besides, Mexico, Australia, Kazakhstan, Mongolia, South Korea, India. and Pakistan were among the top ten leaders in terms of the number of new cases.
