Due to the growth of the coronavirus incidence in Ukraine, the Health Ministry believes it is necessary to extend the quarantine until December 31 as reported citing Chief Sanitary Doctor Viktor Lyashko.

“We will tomorrow (on October 13) initiate the hearing at the government’s meeting, the extension of the quarantine until December 31, 2020,” he stated.

Moreover, Lyashko said that the activity of the food and drink venues will be restricted after 10:00 p.m.

He also reminded that due to the epidemiological situation in the country, the government is forced to reconsider the current quarantine restrictions; particularly, it was offered to start the recess at the education facilities from October 15 up to October 30. After October 30, the authorities will decide further actions.

Besides, higher education establishments will be offered to hold distance education from October 15 up to November 15.

As we reported, the Ministry of Health of Ukraine is going to propose introducing strengthened quarantine in epidemic danger zones.

As of October 13, 270,587 people became infected with coronavirus in Ukraine: 5,122 (+107 during the day) died, 148,903 (+2,874) recovered. Over the last 24 hours, 5,133 new cases of coronavirus infection were diagnosed in Ukraine.
