The quarantine for counteraction Delta strain has started to act in Ukraine on July 2. The measures will concern people, who come from the countries, where this variant of coronavirus is spread as the Health Ministry of Ukraine reported.
According to the renewed rules, people who come from India, the UK, Northern Ireland, Russia, and Portugal or who stayed in these countries at least seven days during the last two weeks have to hold express tests for antigens for coronavirus for entrance to Ukraine.
If the test is negative, people are allowed to enter Ukraine.
In case of refusal to test or positive result of the express test, people will be denied entrance to Ukraine.
The Ukrainians, foreigners and stateless persons who constantly live in Ukraine (except children under the age of 12) and came from the mentioned countries or stayed in their territory at least seven days during the last two weeks should pass the express test for antigens of coronavirus at the checkpoints. They should pass self-isolation or observation in the case of a positive result.
It is noted that the police officers provide the accompaniment of people who should stay in observation from the zone of the border control of the sanitary zone for their further transfer to the place of observation or health facilities for their hospitalization.
The sanitary zones are installed outside the checkpoint through the state border.
The list of countries will be reconsidered and renewed depending on the epidemic situation.
Earlier, the World Health Organization registered the lowest number of cases worldwide since February but cautioned that the Delta variant, now present in 92 countries, is driving a deadly new wave.
As we reported, Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) of Ukraine Oleksiy Danilov stated that the newest Indian strain of coronavirus Delta was observed in Ukraine.
Due to it, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine introduced the mandatory coronavirus antigen test for crossing the Ukrainian border for people traveling from a number of countries.
