President of Russia Vladimir Putin welcomes the involvement of the lawmakers of the European Parliament to the implementation of peace plan by Chairman of the Political Council of Opposition Platform – For Life Viktor Medvedchuk. He made such statement during the meeting with the Ukrainian politician after his visit to Strasbourg.
“Well, first of all, thank that you deemed it possible to come and inform on the results of your meetings in Strasbourg. I believe that the involvement of the European partners, they are involved somehow in it, from the first steps, unfortunately, from the first steps of the conflict, which has evolved, finally, in the things what we observe in Donbas, the involvement of the European partners is a very positive case and we strongly welcome it,” Putin said.
He also welcomed the fact that Medvedchuk’s peace plan is based on Minsk Agreements.
“And the fact that your offer is based on Minsk Agreements; we welcome it twice and, certainly we will strongly support any political forces, which move in this direction,” Putin.
According to him, the complete restoration of the Russian-Ukrainian relations is also extremely important.
“The issue of the restoration, complete restoration of the Russian-Ukrainian relations is also extremely important for us and we will cooperate with any political force, including your political force, on restoration of the full-length relations between Russia and Ukraine. It concerns the issues of the solution of problems in Donbas; it concerns our bilateral relations in economic sphere, of course, the government reports me about your meetings and discussed topics, I believe, that all that you discussed with the Chairman of the Russian government, with the representatives of the economic and energy blocks, it is possible to fulfill all of it. We talked about it for many times. So, we will work”, Putin concluded.
On January 29, Viktor Medvedchuk presented the plan on the settlement of Donbas Conflict during the congress of Opposition platform – For life. This plan completely meets the Minsk Agreements confirmed by the heads of Normandy Four (Ukraine, Russia, France, and Germany), UNSC Resolution and current Constitution of Ukraine.
