Anthony Blinken spoke about Russia's attempts to destabilize the situation in Ukraine from within, and its readiness to launch a large-scale military operation. According to the US Secretary of State, Moscow already used a similar scenario in 2014 during the occupation of Crimea and in the case of the war in Donbas.
“We do not know whether President Putin made the decision to invade (Ukraine). But we do know that he is capable of launching the campaign as soon as possible if he chooses so,” Anton Blinken added.
He clarified that despite the uncertainty about Putin's intentions regarding Ukraine and the absence of a date for a possible invasion, the United States and its allies must be ready for any scenario. The Secretary of State emphasized that everything must be done to change Russia's course.
Earlier, Ukraine’s Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba stated that Russia's decision to invade Ukraine is practically "on the table in the Kremlin". He reiterated that a large contingent of Russian troops is stationed on the border with Ukraine
