Russian President Vladimir Putin expressed condolences over the murder of separatist leader Oleksandr Zakharchenko, according to the message on the official Kremlin website.   

“Vladimir Putin expressed his deepest condolences over the tragical death of the head of the Donetsk People’s Republic Oleksandr Zakharchenko,” reads the message.

Zakharchenko is called a real leader and patriot.

“Oleksandr Volodymyrovych was a real people’s leader, a brave and decisive man, a patriot of Donbas. He defended his native land in a dark period of time, he took huge personal responsibility, leading people.

It should be noted that Putin has never commented on the murders of militants of the illegal armed groups in Donbas.

As we reported earlier, an explosion occurred in a restaurant in the downtown of Donetsk. Oleksandr Zakharchenko, Head of the so-called Donetsk People’s Republic was killed. The so-called “law enforcers” of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic stated that they detained alleged suspects of the assassination attempt on the Head of the terrorist organization Oleksandr Zakharchenko.
