Russian President Vladimir Putin demanded that his Ukrainian colleague Volodymyr Zelensky "really implement the Minsk agreements." The Kremlin website reports this information.

According to the report, today's conversation between Zelensky and Putin took place at the initiative of the Ukrainian side. "In connection with the well-known statements of representatives of the Ukrainian leadership, Vladimir Putin directly raised the question whether Kyiv intends to really implement the Minsk agreements," it said.

Putin reportedly emphasized the importance of "the full and unconditional implementation of the Minsk" set of measures "and the decisions adopted at the summits in the Normandy format, including in Paris on December 9, 2019."

Putin also expressed readiness to continue efforts aimed at the release and exchange of conflict-related detainees.

As we reported before, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky and President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin discussed the process of exchange of persons detained in separate areas of Donetsk and Luhansk regions, Crimea and the Russian Federation during the telephone conversation.

In the course of the conversation, the presidents discussed the implementation of the agreements reached during the Normandy Summit, which was held on December 9, 2019, in Paris, as well as the preparation for the next meeting of the Normandy Four leaders.
