“It is disturbing that in Ukraine a number of laws and bylaws were adopted, which contradict Minsk Agreements. It seems that the leadership of this country has refused the peaceful settlement of the conflict in Donbas. Due to this fact, we ask the federal chancellor, considering the upcoming visit in Kyiv, to influence the Ukrainian side concerning the fulfillment of all earlier taken commitments,” Putin said.
The president of Russia noted that since the beginning of August “over 1,000 violations of the ceasefire regime were spotted”. Besides, according to the Russian leader, the attacks on the settlements in Donbas take place daily.
As we reported, German Chancellor Angela Merkel will come to Kyiv on August 22 to meet with President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky. Merkel plans to discuss Donbas and reforms in Ukraine during the meeting with Zelensky.
