From April 1, 2021, psychiatric care under the medical guarantee program will be provided in three packages. Deputy Minister of Health Iryna Mykychak announced this at a briefing.
"In 2021, the program of medical guarantees in II-IV quarters provides funding for inpatient psychiatric care for adults and children, which will be paid at a global rate based on adjustment factors, treatment of people with mental and behavioral disorders due to intake of opioids with the use of substitution maintenance therapy drugs, which will be paid at a global rate, and psychiatric care provided by mobile multidisciplinary teams. This is a new package of services that will be paid at a global rate based on the workload on the team," Mykychak said.
According to Mykychak, the Ministry of Health has developed and is finalizing an order approving a regulation on mobile multidisciplinary psychiatric care teams. It is planned to create 195 such brigades.
Earlier it was reported that about 302,000 citizens of Ukraine were in need of psychiatric care in 2019. It is more than in 2018. This kind of medical care is very important and cannot be ignored. According to Stepanov, the Ministry of Health has a corresponding concept for the development of psychiatric care in our country until 2030.
