Prosecutor General of Ukraine Yury Lutsenko claimed that the protests in the downtown of Kyiv are financed by the citizens of Georgia and the funds are delivered to Ukraine by the private jets. He claimed this at the meeting with the journalists broadcasted by 112 Ukraine.
Also, Prosecutor General noted that some protesters get money for participation in the rally.
‘According to my information, these people purchase the weapon and the National Police detained people from the entourage of the organizers of this extremists group during the purchase of the weapon; on the day of the protest we found two places in the downtown of Kyiv where the weapons were stored and we have the grounds to talk about the pay for some protesters. We also know that these funds were delivered to Ukraine by the private jets by the citizens of Georgia who visited Western Europe before this’, Lutsenko said.
‘We also have other information on the financing. I will present this evidence at the proper time and the proper suspicion to the proper public figures. I want to say only one thing: Saakashvili really backs on the small circle of the extremist of the Ukrainian and Georgian origin’, he concluded.
The demands of the protesters are to adopt the laws on the removal of the MP immunity, on the anti-corruption court and new election rules.
The participants of the protest set the tent camp at the traffic way of Hryshevsky Street and expressed the intention to stay there until the fulfillment of their demands.
Earlier it was reported that five people suffered near the Verkhovna Rada on the first day of the protest. Later, the video of the beating of staff sergeant of the police and soldier of the Donbas Conflict Igor Yatsenko was published on the internet.
