“Citizens express dissatisfaction with the increase in utility tariffs as they walk back and forth the pedestrian crossings. We ask drivers to take into account the situation on these roads when planning their trips,” the statement reads.
According to preliminary information, the protesters blocked traffic in the villages of Mamaivtsi, Dubivtsi, Berehomet, Nepolokivtsi, Orshivtsi and in the town of Kitsman.
Police urged the organizers of the protests not to violate public safety and order. In order to avoid traffic jams, police officers divert vehicles from protest sites, law enforcement officers say.
Earlier the protests against the increase in gas tariffs were held in Poltava, Kherson, Zaporizhzhia, Vinnytsia, Zakarpattia, Ivano-Frankivsk and Lviv regions.
