“The protesters demand not to allow the surrender of the national interests and not to make concessions with Russia during the Normandy Format meeting in Paris. They also stand against the further disengagement of forces in Donbas,” the correspondent said.
Currently, the stage is installed near the Office of the President. The slogans ‘No to capitulation’ was voiced. Ukrainian bands, leaders of the protests deliver the speech from the stage.
According to the police officers, the protest at Bankova Street takes place without violations. The National Guard officers, the dialogue police and the rescuers stay there. Besides, ten tents installed there.
“At the entrance to the President’s Office, the law enforces installed a few dozens of metal detection arches. The law enforcers check the bags of everyone who wants to enter the yard of the President’s Office. Some of the protesters stayed overnight in the tents and plan to stay here until the morning”, the correspondent added.
As we reported, Putin and Zelensky met in Paris as part of the Normandy Quartet meeting. The peace negotiations, known as the Normandy format, started back in 2014. The last Normandy Four meeting took place in October 2016, the roadmap on establishing peace in Ukraine was elaborated, however, the parties failed to fulfill it.
