“Protecting the weak is a matter of strong”, “Time to stop animals’ abuse”, the defenders of the animals and concerned citizens came to the central streets of Kyiv with such ideas.
People with pets and children walked from Shevchenko Part to the Verkhovna Rada.
Kyiv citizens urged the MPs to protect the animals by new laws. Public figures, such as ex-Healthcare Minister Ulyana Suprun and singer Dzhamala, also stood for the support of the event.
“We are responsible for someone we domesticated”, “Who will save them if not us?”, the partakers of the event in Dnipro stated. One of the organizers of the event Loki von Dorn urged people to pay attention to the animals and solve their issues as Dnipro Vechirny reported. Some of the participants took their pets.
“No cruelty toward animals”, “Your fur coat screamed before death”, “Mykolaiv for humanity”, “Fur is bloody cupidity”, the activists scanted at the central streets of Mykolaiv.
“People use the animals for profit and then throw them away as trash. We against the cruelty to be a norm”, Olena Bardan, the Head of animals rights organization Feniks said as 0512.ua reported.
Mykolaiv activists stood against the use of animals for making money and entertainment: zoos, sea parks, circuses. The citizens also took their pets to the event.
The action for the animals rights also took place at the research activity station Akademik Vernadsky in Antarctica.
The Humanity March took place in 24 cities of Ukraine.
Kyiv court recognized the legitimacy of the decision by Kyiv city state administration on prohibiting the work of circuses employing animals across the city.
Besides, Ukrainians are paying more and more attention to the issue of animal abuse, in particular, they are concerned about the situation in the field of breeding of hunting dogs and in hunting in general, culling of stray dogs.
