Head of Kherson regional council Vladyslav Manger is now the suspect in organizing the murder of Kateryna Handziuk, the ex-counselor to Kherson mayor. Yuriy Lutsenko, Prosecutor General of Ukraine posted that on Facebook on February 11.
Earlier, Ukraine’s Security Service put a crime boss Olexiy Levin (Moskalenko) on a wanted list under suspicion of organizing the murder of Kherson Mayor’s Advisor Kateryna Handziuk, as the Interior Ministry reported.
According to the list of wanted people, Levin is suspected under Article No. 115 of Ukraine’s Criminal Code (“Organization of ordered murder committed by a group of people with violence”). The court permitted to arrest the suspect.
Levin disappeared off the grid of the law enforcers on August 19, 2018.
On November 4, it became known that Kateryna Handziuk died at age of 34. She was doused with sulphuric acid in July this year. According to preliminary information, her death was caused by blood clot's detachment.
Besides, the doctors specified the cause for the death of Handziuk was specified. It was due to multiple organ failure and chemical burns.
Handiuk's murder evoked a huge public outrage, with people demanding to find the orderer of the murder of the reform-driven activist.
