The Prosecutor’s Office of Kyiv opened the criminal proceeding due to the release of Mikheil Saakashvili earlier detained by the law enforcers as Interfax-Ukraine reported citing the source at the law enforcement.

‘The criminal proceeding was opened due to the so-called release of detained Saakashvili’, the message said.

The article of the criminal proceeding is the interference in the activity of the officer of the law enforcement service, the worker of the state law enforcement service. It provides the fine from 50 to 200 personal allowances, correctional labor from one to two years or the arrest up to six months.

Later Nadiia Maksymets, the spokeswoman of the Kyiv Prosecutor’s Office confirmed to 112 Ukraine the opening of the criminal proceeding under the proper article.

As we reported Saakashvili was detained in the suspicion of the support of the criminal group in the organization of the criminal activity. According to the Prosecutor General’s Office of Ukraine, Saakashvili financed the protests to take power for the funds of the allies of Viktor Yanukovych, the former president of Ukraine.

Saakashvili succeeded to release from the car of the law enforcers after a few failed attempts to pass him to the SBU. He made for the Ukrainian parliament right after the release.
