Prosecutor’s office asks to arrest Lyashko with no right for bail

The Prosecutor General’s Office (GPU) asks to arrest Oleg Lyashko, the suspect in the case of the fight with MP from Servant of the People Andriy Gerus, with no right for bail as Ukrainian News reported citing Prosecutor General’s Office.

“The decision on the choice of the restrictive measure in the form of the detention is filed to the court,” the GPU reported.

Boryspil court will consider the appeal.

On November 6, Lyashko started the fight with Gerus at International Airport Boryspil. Gerus called the fight ‘show- provocation’ and Lyashko is the defender of the business of oligarch Rinat Akhmetov.

Consequently, the police opened the criminal case due to the fight. The law enforcers did not mention the article of the investigation. Within the case, the police intend to question Lyashko and eyewitnesses, the workers of the airport.

On November 18, Oleg Lyashko received the notification on the suspicion from the prosecutor due to the fight with Andriy Gerus.

Besides, Lyashko called the case against him to be fabricated and asked the prosecutor General’s Office (GPU), Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) and National Anti-Corruption Bureau (NABU) to open the criminal case against Gerus for treason and abuse of power.
