The Prosecutor General’s Office points out that the criminal proceedings under articles on state treason relate to the SBU's compliance. Yuriy Lutsenko's press secretary Larysa Sargan posted this on Facebook while commenting on the urge to deal with the visit of Medvedchuk and Boyko to the Russian Federation.
“This touches upon the possible state treason by Victor Mededchuk. The Prosecutor General’s Office has been expecting the SBU conclusions of the examination since February, which the Prosecutor General has already reminded to SBU Head Bakanov in an official letter. The flights of other Ukrainian figures to Moscow and their meetings with the leadership of the aggressor-country is certainly an outrageous phenomenon of the country at war. In order to put an end to this, the Prosecutor General’s Office has long suggested the adoption of a law on collaboration,” Sargan wrote.
According to the Press Secretary of Yuriy Lutsenko, without this law, the meetings of Ukrainian politicians in Kremlin cannot be a ground for opening criminal proceedings.
Earlier, the representatives of Presidential Administration expressed surprise that Yuriy Lutsenko, Ukraine’s Prosecutor General, has not reacted to the visits of the leaders of the political party Opposition Platform – For Life Viktor Medvedchuk and Yuriy Boyko to Russia.
On March 22, the delegation of Opposition Platform - For Life party headed by Viktor Medvechuk and Yury Boiko held the negotiations on a number of the economic issue with Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev and Gazprom’s Head Aleksey Miller.
