The Prosecutor General's Office will file a motion to the court to take the former President of Ukraine and incumbent MP Petro Poroshenko under arrest with the possibility of bail of 374,000 dollars. Ukrainian Pravda writes this with reference to the Prosecutor General's Office and the statement of Poroshenko's lawyer Ilya Novikov.
According to the ex-president's defense, a hearing on the selection of a restraint measure is scheduled for 15 p.m. on June 18 in the Pechersk district court of Kyiv. Ilya Novikov said that Petro Poroshenko would arrive in court despite the death of his father.
The Prosecutor General's Office said that they will hold the trial in the case of the appointment of Serhiy Semochko as the Deputy Head of the Foreign Intelligence Service.
As it was reported earlier, the investigation suspects that Petro Poroshenko, being a president, in 2018 by giving an allegedly criminal order, persuaded a military official, the Head of the Foreign Intelligence Service of Ukraine, to exceed his power and official authority. Poroshenko denies his guilt.
It should be noted that the investigation, in this case, was launched by the State Bureau of Investigation on December 5, 2019.
