The property of former Interior Minister Vitaliy Zakharchenko will be seized again soon, as Ukraine’s Prosecutor General Yuriy Lutsenko said after the provisional investigatory commission held for investigation of embezzlement of property in Armed Forces of Ukraine, 112 Ukraine broadcasted the event.
Answering the question about lifting the seizure of Zakharchenko’s property, the Prosecutor General said: “We are analyzing the court’s decision and I am convinced that soon we will seize his property again. It will not escape – these mainly are apartments, parking lots, land parcels. Everything will be under investigation as it was”.
He stated that the property of the ex-Minister also has to be seized in another case.
“I am convinced that Zakharchenko’s property will be seized within the case on mass murder in Maidan, in which he is involved as well. And later it will be confiscated if the court makes the relevant decision,” Yuriy Lutsenko.
Earlier, in 2017 the Prosecutor General’s Office announced charges against Yanukovych, Zakharchenko, Yakymenko and some other ex-officials on “Maidan cases” of 2014. They are suspected of illegal resistance to organization and holding of rallies, demonstrations and marches, of organizing power abuse among law enforcers, premeditated murder of two or more persons, and organizing a terrorist attack.
