He noted that during the last video conference on April 19, the agreement was not reached on the text of the joint statement in the support of the restoration of the ceasefire regime in Donbas due to the position of the Russian Federation. On the other side, on April 20, during the meeting of the security task group of the Trilateral Contact Group, the text with the annexes of the Ukrainian side on the measures for the support of the ceasefire regime was almost agreed.

“I hope that we will find a solution through the mediation of the OSCE SMM to control effectively the violation of the ceasefire regime. Besides, the Ukrainian side offered that the TCG security group should gather in cases when the attacks in Donbas lead to the death of people. We believe there should be stricter responsibility for sniper attacks,” Yermak noted.

“Ukraine stated that we are ready to release five persons on the eve of Easter. Mostly, there are women and diseased. Unfortunately, we did not receive a response from the other side,” he said.

Andriy Yermak also noted that Ukraine as the international society demands and expects the withdrawal of the Russian troops from the Ukrainian borders and the diplomatic pressure from G7 countries is necessary for it. Moreover, according to him, the support of G7 countries is very important on Ukraine’s way to the EU and NATO.

Besides, Yermak noted that Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky and his team are determined to reboot the Constitutional Court of Ukraine. On April 20, Zelensky signed the order on the creation of the contest committee for the selection of candidates for the position of judges of the court on presidential quota. Due to this, Yermak appealed to G7 Ambassadors with the appeal to offer specialists on the constitutional law from their countries who would be able to participate in the work of this commission.
