The Chancellor of Germany Angela Merkel had a phone conversation with President of Ukraine Volodymyr Volodymyr Zelensky. They discussed Minsk Agreements, as Steffen Seibert, the official representative of Germany’s Government, said as Interfax-Ukraine reported.
“Both sides stressed the importance of full implementation of Minsk Agreements and interest in the continuation of close cooperation in “Normandy format”. They agreed to maintain close working contact in this and other regards,” Seibert said.
In April, it was reported that France and Germany confirmed the intention to hold a meeting in “Normandy format” after the elections in Ukraine are over.
According to Merkel, “Normandy format” was a real success, and Germany is ready to continue working this way.
