Donald Tusk, the President of the European Council, is to visit Ukraine at the beginning of the next year, as the Ukrainian leader Petro Poroshenko said during his visit to Helsinki, after the Congress of European People's Party.
'I took a chance and invited the leaders of the EU, including Mr. Tusk to Ukraine. The invitation was gladly accepted. Mr. Tusk will visit (Ukraine) at the beginning of the next year,' Poroshenko said.
Besides, Poroshenko stated that he urged the European leaders and the members of the European People’s Party to provide the prolongation of anti-Russian sanctions, to help provide the ceasefire regime and withdrawal of the Russian troops and artillery from the Ukrainian territory, to provide the progress in the process of release of the political prisoners.
'I felt a strong and complete support of Ukraine from the EU side,' Poroshenko said.
