The earthquake took place in Ukraine today, on September 23. The citizens of Ternopil, Khmelnytsk, Vinnytsia and the Chernivtsi region have felt the earth shock as the German Research Centre for Geosciences reported.
It is noted that the epicenter of an earthquake with 4.3 magnitude on the Richter scale took place not far from Chortkiv, Ternopil region, near the Dniester.
No victims or destructions were reported.
According to VolcanoDiscovery, the earthquake took place at 6:18 a.m. at the local time and a shallow depth of 10 km.
“Proceeding from the previous seismic data, the earthquake should not inflict significant harm but possibly, many people felt it as the light vibration in the area of the epicenter,” the message says.
The citizens of the Ternopil region have already shared the impression after the incident:
“It was horrible. We woke up from a very loud sound and in a few seconds, the house started to shake,” Oksana from Bila, Chortkiv area, stated.
“Firstly, I thought that the truck passed by but when I woke up finally I understood that something goes wrong,” Oleksiy from Terebovlya stated.
“A real hell was in Horodenka. Everything was shaking and booming for 11 minutes. My relatives and neighbors ran to the street, children cried, animals went crazy. It is very terrible,” a citizen of the Ternopil region reported.
On Wednesday, September 8, an earthquake was observed near the Brestiv village of Mukachevo district, Zakarpattia region. The earthquake had a magnitude of 2.5.
