Power supply in Crimea completely restored

The power supply in Crimea after a breakdown on Taman electric substation was completely restored, as the press office of Krymenergo reports.

“As at 17:22 the power supply of the customers was completely restored. The causes of the technological disturbances are being defined,” the message says.

As we reported earlier, Sergey Aksyonov, the Head of Kremlin-controlled Crimea, informed that due to the voltage jumps on the electric substation Taman the entire Crimea was left without power.

Alim Aliyev, the program director of the Crimean House, in the commentary for 112 Ukraine noted that there were mobile communication disruptions on the peninsula.

Later, it was reported that the power supply on the peninsula was partially restored. According to the press office of Krymenergo, power supply, in particular, was restored in Simferopol, Sevastopol, Southern Coast of Crimea.

The blackout of the light in Crimea continues occurring despite the launching of the third line of the Russian power bridge in spring of 2016. Since December of 2015, energy supply from Ukraine to Crimea was cut off because the power tower in Kherson region was damaged. Now, Crimea supplies itself by its own generation, the generation facilities from Russia and the power bridge with the Kuban.
