Petro Poroshenko, the current President of Ukraine called Volodymyr Zelensky, the candidate for the presidency, to debates. Zelensky stated that he is ready as Liga.net and Interfax-Ukraine reported.
“The debates should be the key element of the elections in the second tour. If someone avoids debates, it means that he has nothing to say,” Poroshenko stated.
Meanwhile, Volodymyr Zelensky responded with readiness for such a challenge.
“I am ready. I am an open person; I am ready for an interview. I have little time in my life,” Zelensky said.
According to the exit polls, Zelensky is the leader of the first round of presidential elections, while current president Poroshenko occupies the second place.
The Central Election Commission began protocol handling of the presidential elections in Ukraine.
As of 7 a.m., April 1, Volodymyr Zelensky enters the second tour of the elections with 30,23% of votes, while Petro Poroshenko occupies the second place with 16,65%.
The voters’ turnout in Ukraine made 63,45% and 62,71% as of 8:00 p.m., March 31.
