The current President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko discussed the issuance of the Russian passports to the residents of occupied territory of Donbas with Canada’s PM Justin Trudeau, as Poroshenko reported on his Facebook page.
“I hope Canada will take a principled position concerning the enhancement of the sanctions against Russia as a reaction to the so-called passport decrees of the Kremlin,” he stated.
Poroshenko and Trudeau paid attention to the importance of the release of the Ukrainian citizens illegally kept in the Russian prisons.
Besides, Poroshenko thanked for Canada’s support on the international stage and in the question of cooperation with the democratic reforming in Ukraine.
The parties have discussed preparations to the Third conference on reforms in Ukraine which is scheduled for July 2-4 in Toronto.
