Poroshenko to visit Portugal on December 17-18

A number of bilateral documents are to be signed during his visit to the country

The president of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko will pay an official visit to the Portuguese Republic on December 17-18. This was reported by the press service of the president.

It is noted that during the visit Poroshenko will meet with Portugal's President Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, Portuguese Prime Minister Antonio Costa and Portugal's Assembly Chairman Eduardo Ferrero Rodrigues.

A number of bilateral documents that will contribute to the intensification of cooperation between Ukraine and the Portuguese Republic in various fields are expected to be signed.

The President of Ukraine will also hold a meeting with the Ukrainian community living in Portugal.

As it was reported earlier Eugene Czolij, the President of the Ukrainian World Congress (UWC), visited Budapest, Hungary with working visit on the invitation of the UWC member organization Association of Ukrainian Culture in Hungary on 26-28 November 2017, to discuss with its high-ranking government officials the new Law of Ukraine “On Education” and Hungary’s continues to support the European and Euro-Atlantic integration of Ukraine.

During the meetings with high-ranking government officials, the UWC President thanked Hungary for recognizing the Holodomor of 1932-33 as a genocide of the Ukrainian people, being one of the first countries to do so, and for the support for Ukraine in the defence of its territorial integrity and the humanitarian assistance, primarily the treatment and rehabilitation of Ukrainian soldiers and caring for children with family members fighting in the conflict zone.
