Poroshenko to pay official visit to Turkey on November 3

The President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko will pay a working visit to Turkey, as the President’s Administration reported. The visit is scheduled for November 3-4.

The seventh session of High Level Strategic Councils scheduled for November 3. It is to be held in Istanbul under the leadership of the president of Ukraine and Turkey.

“The agenda provides the discussion of key issues of the bilateral political dialogue, current situation, and perspectives of the development of the cooperation between Ukraine and Turkey in the trade and economic, scientific and technological, defense industrial, energy transport, cultural humanitarian, educational, and touristic sectors. Ukraine’s President will have talks with the President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdoğan,” the press office reports.

Besides, Poroshenko will participate in the opening of a plaque on a building where the Ukrainian People's Republic diplomatic mission was located in 1919-1922. In addition, he will visit Istanbul university, which has a department of Ukrainian language and literature, and opening of the exhibition of archival documents, dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the diplomatic relationships between the countries.

The President will go to Antalya to participate in the inaugural ceremony of Ukraine’s Consulate and “Ukrainian House” cultural center.

Angela Merkel, the Chancellor of Germany, arrived in Ukraine with an official visit November 1.
