President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko signed the law prolonging the “special status” for temporarily occupied territories, according to the President's press service.
The aim of the law is creating conditions for the peaceful resolution of the conflict in the occupied territories. It foresees special governing arrangements on the occupied territories provided that illegal military troops, mercenaries, and their equipment are withdrawn from the occupied territories.
The Parliament adopted this law on October 6, along with a law on Donbas reintegration.
