The President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko signed a law adopted by the Verkhovna Rada with amendments to the Budget Code of Ukraine concerning broadcasters’ programs support in Autonomous Republic of Crimea and Sevastopol city. Such information was published on site of the Parliament.

The law was adopted by the Rada on November 17. A memorandum to the draft introduced by the Cabinet states that it is meant to resolve issues related to the financial support of broadcasters that operate on the territory of Crimea and Sevastopol city, including TV company Atlant-SV Ltd. for ATR T channel to pay for satellite communications services and a part of the debt for such services from February 2014, for lease and purchase of television equipment, rent, payment for services for the use and purchase of copyrights for the State Budget money of Ukraine.
Thus, the law states that the government of Ukraine as an exception to the provisions of the Budget Code can define uses of budgetary funds to support programs broadcasting companies that operate in the Crimea and Sevastopol in 2016. Note that, according to p. 11, ch. 1, Art. 87 of the Budget Code, the budget funds are to be spent on programs to support national and state broadcasters, public television and radio, press, publishers, government news agencies.
During the discussion of the draft at the plenary session of Parliament, the Member of the Budget Committee Konstantyn Ishcheykin noted that the document does not provide additional financing, the amount of Ukraine’s financial support to ATR TV channel will be 1,2 million USD.
Earlier it was reported that Poroshenko allowed National Council to fine channels for calls for revolution. The Verkhovna Rada adopted the law on November 1.
