Poroshenko signs bill on creation of war veterans unified registry in Ukraine

The President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko signed a bill on the creation of a Unified Registry of war veterans. The information about the bill is contained in its card No.9508.

The law on the status of war veterans provides the creation of a Unified Register of War Veterans. The Ministry of Veterans Affairs is responsible for that.

It is expected that the registry will help to keep the record of veterans, implement their rights to benefits and socials securities, to define their needs and coordinate the activity of different establishments.

The information of the registry has to be protected as confidential information.

The Government was entrusted to define the order of creation, maintenance, access to the information the registry contains, the ways of its use, an order of obtaining information from other registries, and databases about physical entities for listing in the register.

Earlier, the parliamentary committee on veterans and disabled people affairs by the chairman of the committee, the representative of Petro Poroshenko Bloc Oleksandr Tretyakov developed the bill and registered it on January 28
