Poroshenko says he will sign bill prohibiting ribbon of Saint George

Petro Poroshenko announced that he will sign law banning Saint George's ribbon. He said this during the speech on the occasion of the Day of Remembrance of the Victims of Political Repressions, broadcast by 112 Ukraine TV channel.

"Law banning Georgian ribbon will also be signed as soon as it comes out from Verkhovna Rada," president noted.

According to Poroshenko, these ribbons are the symbol of current Russian aggression against Ukrainians, which is killing citizens in the East every day. 

As it was earlier reported, Ukrainian parliament, voted for the bill prohibiting the public use, production and promotion of the St.George’s ribbon, 238 Ukrainian MPs supported the document.
