President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko stated that the Central Election Commission of Ukraine had suffered the cyber attack from the side of Russia on February 24,25 as 112 Ukraine reported.
“The National Security and Defense Council along with the Security Service developed the protection mechanisms; the Information Security Department and Cyber Security Police of the Central Election Commission along with our American partners did it as the DDos-attacks took place from the side of the Russian Federation,” the president said.
He also noted that later the negotiations of the representatives of the Armed Forces and U.S. State Department on the cooperation in the cyber security sphere took place in Odesa.
Earlier we reported that Russia intends to involve all present arsenal, including the cyber means, to influence the upcoming elections in Ukraine.
Besides, it was reported that the Ministry of the Foreign Affairs of Ukraine summarized the events from the beginning of the aggression by the Russian Federation against Ukraine to the fifth anniversary of the aggression. The Ministry outlined that the consequences of the criminal deeds by the Kremlin authorities are unprecedented for post-war Europe.
