President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko arrived in the lab of the NSC Olimpiysky arena. The head of the state passed the probe for drugs and alcohol, just like his opponent Volodymyr Zelensky. The latter passed the test at a different lab after 8 a.m., whilst Poroshenko arrived at NSC Olimpiysky after 9 a.m.
The incumbent head of the state passed the probe, left the lab room and then spoke to the journalists.
'In spite of this strange form of making the offer, they invited me to come to Olimpiysky stadium. I'm at the stadium today. I gather, Volodymyr Oleksandrovych never showed up... 'I showed up and you weren't there' (a reference to Ukrainian folk song, - 112 International). I'm sure he will accumulate enough courage and come here today, and the debates will take place. All the more the law required that', the President said.
Poroshenko also offered to hold the debates in three stages; the first one would be dedicated to the candidates' positions on the key authority of the Supreme Commander in the enhancement of security and defense program. The next stage, according to him, would concern the matters of foreign affairs. And the third stage would address the protection of constitutional rights and freedoms of the Ukrainian citizens, as Poroshenko put it.
