Poroshenko not to debate on stadiums: President’s team reacts on Zelensky’s call to debates

President Petro Poroshenko will not debate with another presidential candidate Volodymyr Zelensky on the Kyiv stadium. MP from Petro Poroshenko Bloc Maria Ioniva sated this, as Hromadske reports.

“That is why we are talking about those debates…President Poroshenko is a European, so he will not meet at the stadium, he will meet at the TV studio, where the debates should be held normally and professionally…And to him (Zelenesky, - red.) Pavelko (the president of Federation of Football of Ukraine – red.) can come to the stadium and play football with him there,” Ionova said.

Earlier, Presidential candidate of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky responded to the invitation of current President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko to debates and invited him to debates as well, but with his terms.

The presidential candidate named the place for debates - NSC Olympic.

The team of Zelensky posted on Facebook the countdown from date of publication of the announcement.

According to the exit polls, Zelensky is the leader of the first round of presidential elections, while current president Poroshenko occupies the second place.

As of 7 a.m., April 1, Volodymyr Zelensky enters the second tour of the elections with 30,23% of votes, while Petro Poroshenko occupies the second place with 16,65%.

The voters’ turnout in Ukraine made 63,45% and 62,71% as of 8:00 p.m., March 31.
