During the meeting, the Chancellor of Germany Angela Merkel and the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko will discuss questions of implementation of Minsk agreements by Russia, regulation of the security situation in Donbas and the question of prisoners’ liberation.
This was reported by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Pavlo Klimkin on air of one of the Ukrainian channels.
"We have agreed to discuss a number of important issues in early February. Especially on how to get Russia to fulfill Minsk agreements, on the security situation in Donbas, and what can be done to free the hostages, how today we can more effectively use the power of Normandy format," Klimkin said.
The question of the support of Ukrainian reforms by Germany will also be discussed, the Minister added.
Earlier it was reported that Poroshenko will visit Berlin to negotiate with Merkel on January 30. Leaders of Ukraine and Germany will discuss peaceful settlement of the Donbas conflict.
