President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko invited Portuguese President Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa to visit Ukraine. This was reported on the Presidential Administration website.

"I gladly invited Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa to visit Ukraine in the near future and continue our fruitful dialogue," the message said.

Poroshenko began a meeting with the President of Portugal in a narrow circle. The negotiations are planned in an expanded format. Following the talks, the leaders of the states will hold a meeting with representatives of the media.

It is noted that the president arrived in the palace with his wife Maryna Poroshenko, where they were met by the President of Portugal.

As it was reported earlier Poroshenko is paying an official visit to the Portuguese Republic on December 17-18. During the visit Poroshenko will meet with Portugal's President Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, Portuguese Prime Minister Antonio Costa and Portugal's Assembly Chairman Eduardo Ferrero Rodrigues.

A number of bilateral documents that will contribute to the intensification of cooperation between Ukraine and the Portuguese Republic in various fields are expected to be signed. The President of Ukraine will also hold a meeting with the Ukrainian community living in Portugal.
