Petro Poroshenko reported that he was ready to meet personally with the official winner of the presidential elections in Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky. Poroshenko wrote this on Facebook.
Poroshenko during the phone call congratulated Zelensky with the victory. According to the report, Poroshenko agreed with Zelensky to meet personally very soon.
“As the current head of state, I called Volodymyr Zelensky and congratulated him on the official election results announced today by the Central Election Commission. Volodymyr Zelensky and I have agreed to meet soon during the telephone conversation,” Petro Poroshenko wrote.
Earlier, the Central Election Commission announced the results of the second round of the presidential elections in Ukraine in 2019. Volodymyr Zelensky wins the presidential run with 73,22% of the votes, as Tetyana Slipachuk, the Head of the Central Election Commission, said.
Petro Poroshenko got 24,45% of the votes.
The second round of the elections of the President of Ukraine took place on April 21.
Besides, the Central Election Commission processed 100% of the protocols at abroad election district: Petro Poroshenko gained 54,74% of the votes, while Zelensky got 43,78%.
